Scrapping is one of the few things that the entire family can enjoy. You can easily adjust things so your youngest kids can get involved. Hubbie may be a challenge, but never lose hope! The best thing is that while you have the rest of the family doing their scrapbooking projects, you can work on yours!
I save all of my not-so-good and blurry pictures and put them in a container. My 18 month old daughter is fascinated with pictures and loves to get these to play with. She doesn't care if Grandpa was talking or if the top of Daddy's head is missing, they are still Grandpa and Daddy to her. AND...it keeps her occupied while I'm cropping! Janna Saeger
I am a homeschooler with girls, ages 3 and 6. We all love scrapbooking. I give them the extra prints and they really have fun. My 1st grader has made some really neat pages and I now let her use the acid-free supplies. What is also fun is that we can turn it into a math lesson. She knows the different shapes and is now learning fractions. We use the circles, squares, etc to cut up and she knows halves and quarters. I also let her write her own notes - I only have to spell the words for her. It is a really enjoyable time and so different from just 'hitting the books.' Judy Blanc
Our entire family pulls out all the pictures, of the year that just ended, on January 1. And we scrapbook all day long in the living room by the fireplace. It is a great time to review the previous year, make plans for the new one and just enjoy each others company. I can not think of a better way to bring in the new year. Kathie
My children are fascinated by my scrapbooking, so to involve them I let each one create a page. They use markers, stickers, scissors...etc. I include the date somewhere on the page. I then put together photos of them from that time period or even creating the page and use them to assemble the opposing page. Jackie DiCenso - USAF Academy, CO
Remember that children have a great perspective on life. Hand the camera over to them periodically to see what they can come up with! If you don't want to give up YOUR camera, the disposable cameras are great!! Remember to teach your children that what they see through the view finder is what will show up in the photo (if they can't see mom's head in the window, it won't be in the picture either!). Do you have little children who like to "help" you work on your scrapbooks? Why not let them crop right along side you? Give your little ones the duplicate or blurry or blooper pictures that aren't going into your album. Let them crop their own pictures with a pair of decorative scissors. You can even give them paper, tape, or an old/un-safe album to put together their own albums. This will keep them occupied and happy so you can stay (or get) caught up on your albums. Remember to supervise children closely with any scissors, punches, or trimmers. John and Carrie - Cut'N'Fun
